This house had a great location on the high side of the street facing north with a view of the escarpment and a few metres from the beach!

However the house was for a young family and there wasn't enough space. The house was exposed and was cramped on the block after being subdivided.
​
The solution was to build onto the front and side of the existing house adding a big covered deck to the front for entertaining and sheltered play. The existing driveway was landscaped (cars could share the driveway to the rear). There was a new garage with a living room on top to take advantage of the views and the north aspect, new bedroom, study and bathroom.

I still get to visit this house and enjoy the relaxed nature of a home by the beach.
